A jury in a new York city court found nxivm leader Keith Ranier guilty of organizing sexual exploitation, extortion, and possession of child pornography, Reuters reported.

According to the Associated Press, 58-year-old Ranieri was found guilty on all counts. His lawyer said that Ranieri denies guilt and intends to appeal the decision.

Keith Ranier, Reuters points out, faces life imprisonment. The court will pronounce sentence on September 25.

Keith Ranier is the founder of the Nxivm organization, which positions itself as a company conducting self-development trainings. American authorities accuse Nxivm of sexual exploitation of women.

- During the investigation, it became known that women who joined the organization were forced to have sex with the leader of the cult, and they were branded with the initials of Ranier.
