Trade sanctions limit the ability of a Chinese company to use American products.

Huawei postponed indefinitely the launch of a new laptop on Windows. It was supposed to be shown on CES Asia without a release date, but eventually abandoned any announcement. This was reported by CNBC and The Information, citing the head of the consumer division of Huawei Richard Yu.

A top Manager described the situation as "unfortunate". According to him, the laptop first had to present without the date of start of sales, but because of being in the "black" list of the United States, the company could not even present the device.

Specifications of the new MateBook remain unknown. Huawei updated Huawei's MateBook X Pro line in February and introduced the 13-inch Macbook 13 on CES in January.

In early June, Digitimes reported that Huawei had suspended production and development of new laptops. Microsoft did not comment on the situation, but removed the Chinese company's devices from its online store.
